U.S. Lineup Notes — Grenada

Tonight’s U.S. lineup:

Perkins; Cherundolo (c), Marshall, Goodson, Pearce; Holden, Pause, Beckerman, Rogers; Davies, Adu

Perkins is making his second start for the U.S.  (He won his first start 3-1.)

Cherundolo is back for his 14th cap since 2006.  He has one goal & two assists in the past 13 matches.

Goodson has his 3d cap since 2006 and his second start.

Pearce is making his 17th start in 19 caps for the U.S. since 2006.  He comes in with 3 assists in those matches.

Marshall is back from his post-2005 hiatus.  He had 4 appearances and one goal (against Columbia) prior to 2006.

After playing in the Olympics and missing out on a chance to play against Sweden earlier this year, Stuart Holden is set to get his first cap for the MNT.  As is Logan Pause.

Beckerman is getting his second start and fourth cap for the team.

Robbie Rogers is getting his second start in as many caps.  He played 68 minutes in his first MNT appearance.

Charlie Davies is the lone returning hero from the Confederations Cup.  This will be his 5th start and 11th cap.  He has 2 goals and 1 assist for the MNT.

Freddy Adu is set to begin his campaign for one of the remaining World Cup roster spots tonight.  It is his 6th start and 13th cap.  He has 1 goal and 2 assists.

Tonight’s bench is Parkhurst, Heaps, Cooper, Robles, Quaranta, Evans, and Arnaud.
